Is Insanity Really Insane?

by Jesse

Nearly every self-proclaimed fitness guru has workout videos being sold through the internet.  Of course, each of them would insist on the effectiveness of their audio-visual training modules.  They would even solicit the good words of people using their videos to encourage many others to buy their products.  Almost all of such videos certainly help people lose weight and achieve leaner and muscular-looking bodies. All these also happen to follow a very conventional pattern of routines.  These are characterized by long stretches of light-impact to moderate exercises and short periods of high intensity routines.  Anything else that seems not to follow this formula is considered an insanity workout.

However, an insanity workout is definitely not bad for one who wishes to see good results fast.  What make it insane are not the bad effects it brings to the body.  It is called so because it dares to challenge conventions, to oppose the formula already being employed by many fitness experts.  It is also mad because of the manner it drives the individual to focus on his efforts in burning calories and losing weight fast.  Therefore, other fitness buffs may think it is really insane but after you have tried this workout and see the results yourself, you will surely be one of those claiming that not every that appears crazy is bad.

Just because it is called insanity workout does not mean that it does not give due consideration to a person’s physical conditions before it is performed.   The workout video on this, in fact, teaches you to determine your readiness for the routines involved.  You will first be tested if you have the endurance and flexibility required to start with the most basic steps.  You may be surprised at the level of intensity of such test.  However, this is precisely necessary in order for you discover your ability prior to the actual routines.  Once you have determined your readiness, you can use the next workout DVD videos.  You will be introduced to plyometric cardio, a routine that will immediately initiate you to the process of burning fats in the most effective way.

Most of the routines involved in insanity workout may really be high-impact and may leave you very exhausted.  Since anything done in extreme is unhealthy, you will have to perform low-intensity routines at certain periods.  There are weeks in between high-intensity workout weeks when you will only have to perform light exercises instead.  You may think it is insane but you are not allowed to totally rest from workout for a week.  Otherwise, you defeat the purpose of the entire program.  Relative to the usual intense levels of the workout, those times when you only have to do light exercises should be enough rest for you.
