Push Yourself with P90X

by Jesse

As a Beachbody Coach I talk to people almost everyday about working out and getting in great shape.  Sometimes I feel like I have to be put in a position to be a little aggressive with the people that need it.  I know that when someone is talking to me they really want to get in great shape but they just feel a little frustrated.  I have had quite a few people talk to me at some point or another about not getting the results that they wanted to.  Sometime I can tell that they sound angry or basically really upset, even to the point where they might take it out on me.

When it gets to the point of frustration like this,  I have learned that this is point where you have to stay positive but start to be a little harsh.  Sometimes people just need a friendly push.  Sometimes they need someone to tell they that they are not doing enough to get the results that they set for themselves.  What I have found is that you have to be willing to tell someone that their work ethic is crap.  You have to be willing call them out on something they are doing wrong or even something that they are not doing at all.

Now I don’t want to sound like a jerk here or anything like that at all.  The people that I work with know that I genuinely care about them and the goals they set.  I want them to get their goals as much as they want it for themselves.  I never take it personally when someone lashes out at me, as I know that it is frustration leaking through.  For some people they are fighting a lifetime of bad habits, sometimes it does take a swift kick in the ass to really get things moving.

Even with something like P90X, you need to make sure that they are really doing this program the right way.  As a Beachbody Coach they people that are under you need to know what a good diet is. They need to know that a great workout means pushing yourself to the limit and then some.  I want nothing more than to help as many people as I can workout and get in the best shape of their lives.  I don’t care if it is P90X, Slim in 6 or any of the other workout programs, just make sure that you are doing something and pushing yourself to your fitness goals.
