I want this post to be about something that many people are scared to death of. Something that many have heard of but not many have actually tired. A little something called the pull-up. Now I know that can be a big word for a lot of people. The term pull-up is a very simple term, but the actual action part of the word can be quite scary. That is why I am here to talk to you about the magic of resistance band workouts. P90X and other great Beachbody programs have awesome resistance band workouts. I know personally people that have gotten some amazing results with using the resistance bands.
The Beachbody resistance bands come in several colors, each of them represents a different weight of resistance. So basically you can move up and down as you need to increase or decrease the amount of weighted resistance that you need for each workout. Something that I love about doing a resistance band workout is that you can keep going and going really pushing yourself to get a burn in the muscle. Especially as you go through and increase the amount of weight that you use.
Another advantage to doing a resistance band workout for a person is the low impact that it has on the body. They really are incredibly smooth and the amazing part about it is that you will see some superb results from using them I also like the fact that they are safe to use, and you don’t have to worry about how many pull-ups you are doing. Now I want to set something straight with you first. I love pull ups, I think that pound for pound they are the greatest exercise that you can do for your upper body and torso. I know that because of all the pull ups that I have done I am way stronger than I have ever been before. Look at the primates, the reason they are so incredibly strong as compared to us is that they are always pulling themselves around by their own body weight.
My point to all of this is that you eventually want to end up with pull ups, but if you feel like they are a little advanced then start with a good resistance band workout.
