So maybe not everyone realizes that to stay hydrated is to hold on to dear life which is why still several people fall prey to dehydration. We ought to know that second to oxygen, water is the most important nutrient that our body needs.
There are simply several reasons that could be enumerated to stress out the importance of hydration. With a well-hydrated body your senses and systems can function at their best. A person who is less hydrated is more prone to experiencing fatigue. Come the more humid days, you are more likely to lose excessive amounts of water from your body and being involved in very physical outdoor activities could even heighten the body’s trip towards “dehydration”. This is when you should take proper precautions the most.
You should know that water makes up a great percent of a person’s body – approximately 60 percent in males and 50 percent in females. Other facts about water that you should know are that our skin is made up of it by 70 percent; blood has 80 percent water; muscle is 75 percent water; bone is 25 percent water; and fat is actually 20 percent water. These numbers speak everything about the importance of having a hydrated body. The more water you lose from your body the more likely that you are allowing these body parts to function poorly.
It is needless to say that it is critical for one to maintain a well-hydrated body. In order to go about this there are some things that you need to note like ensuring your body gets the sufficient water needed every day. On an average, you should have at least eight glasses of water a day. Although there are some people who love to substitute water with other liquid intakes like juice, energy drinks and all other thirst quenchers now made available for the more selective taste buds. This is fine however it should not be forgotten that water is still the purest form or source of hydration.
For those who do not make drinking a habit, remember to replenish your water supply by eating lots of fruits or vegetables. They are a natural and healthy way to add hydration to your body. Several fruits and vegetables are good for the body as they are made up of 80 percent of water. Melons and citrus fruits along with vegetables like cucumbers and green leafy ones make the better choice for these groups if you want a steady supply of body hydration. Staying well-hydrated also helps you rid of wastes and toxins that may be trapped inside your body.
Before you take for granted the importance of water in your body, you should think a million times unless you would want to reap the consequences of having body organs and systems’ malfunctions. Have a well regulated body temperature and be in the most comfortable position you could ever be in every day by drinking your needed dose of water.
From the position of a Beachbody coach, I tell people all the time to make sure that they are taking in enough fluids and re-hydrating the best they can. In most cases you will need way more water than you even realize.
